Troll
Troll is the name of several types of humanlike, ugly creature in Nordic folktales
and fairy tales, which have root in Norse mythology. The properties and the
appearance of Trolls vary, but they are usually dangerous and stupid. We
usually find Trolls out in the nature; like in mountains, caves, forest or
oceans. They have big long noses, they can have two or more heads, they are
huge and when the sun hits them, they turn to stone.
The Troll has been used in Nordic literature, art and music from the 1800s.
Most probably the best known depiction of Trolls is the ones in Theodor
Kittelsen`s illustrations and in the written fairy tales by Asbjørnsen and Moe.
